The project
Innovative start-up Delta Plastic, with support from IP4FVG, has implemented a digital transformation pilot project that addresses the need to automate quality control of plastic products made by co-moulding electronic and decorative inserts.

Results and future developments
Developed in collaboration with Datamind, this prototype is based on the use of collaborative robots to move moulds from the production site to the quality control station. The system also relies on Machine Vision tools and AI algorithms for production defect analysis and interacts in real time with the production process management software system. Once the required level of reliability is reached, the solution will be applied to mass processing and extended to all new company products, enabling the company to provide a customer experience based on high quality and reliability standards.
