Services and technologies available to the FVG businesses: ip4fvg presents its four regional living labs
17 June 2021, Trieste – From the Internet of Things to Artificial Intelligence, from data analysis to optimisation software to cobots, these are some of the numerous technological solutions to be found in the four demonstrators set up by the IP4FVG regional digital innovation hub and presented this morning at a press conference held in the Region’s Representation Room.
The demonstrators or living labs are laboratories equipped with the main Industry 4.0 technologies and, as of today, are available to entrepreneurs, technicians and professionals who want to experience their potential first-hand. They are located throughout the region and each one is dedicated to a specific area, all of which are fundamental sectors for digital transformation: in the industrial area in Amaro (UD), within the Carnia Industrial Park, it is possible to test IoT solutions; in San Vito al Tagliamento (PN), at LEF (Lean Experience Factory 4. 0), there is a space dedicated to advanced digital technologies for the manufacturing industry; in Trieste, at the Padriciano campus of Area Science Park, there is a demonstrator dedicated to simulation and optimisation and a corner with a focus on Building Site 4.0 and digitisation of the building process; finally, the living lab in Udine, inside the ‘Uniud Lab Village’ campus of the University of Udine, offers various technologies dedicated to data analysis and artificial intelligence.
The logic behind the design and implementation of the living labs is that of test before invest: testing solutions before introducing them to the company. As of today, therefore, entrepreneurs, technicians and professionals can book a visit to one or more demonstrators and experience the proposed 4.0 solutions at first hand. Moreover, thanks to the support of IP4FVG experts working in the 4 hubs, it is possible to analyse the potential and impact of implementing the various technological innovations. By visiting the demonstrators, it is also possible to discover 65 additional applications proposed by regional and national companies, collected through the Digital Solutions initiative. All this is free of charge because IP4FVG is a strategic initiative of the Argo System, supported by MUR, MISE and the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia. The investment for the demonstrators amounted to EUR 650,000.
The demonstrators are the latest step in a path structured and developed by the IP4FVG digital innovation hub. For the past two and a half years, in fact, the regional hub’s 29 partners, public and private entities working in the field of innovation, have been collaborating to support local businesses in the digital transformation of production processes. Dialogue with businesses, digitalisation projects and training are the pillars of IP4FVG, which to date counts on a network of over 1,700 entrepreneurs, managers, technicians and professionals. As far as training is concerned, more than 3,000 people have participated in courses on digitalisation promoted by the regional hub.
The press conference was attended by Councillors Alessia Rosolen and Sergio Emidio Bini, the Chairman of the IP4FVG steering committee, Stefano Casaleggi, and the representatives of the local hubs: Roberto Siagri, IOT hub contact person in Amaro; Andrea Bochicchio, DOS hub contact person in Trieste (video); Dino Feragotto, DA&AI hub contact person in Udine; Paolo Candotti, AMS hub contact person in Pordenone (video); Sara Guttilla, IP4FVG coordinator.
